Rogers Chinese Lantern Festival 2008 in Toronto start from July 31. This celebration of Chinese craftsmanship and culture light up the Ontario Place waterfront until October 12, 2008. This year's theme is about the architectural wonders of the world and the world's animals in the seven continents . The motto was: light your dreams.

2008 Rogers Chinese Lantern Festival By The Numbers
68: Days to transport materials from China and construct lantern sets.
64: Master craftsmen from Zigong, China working at Ontario Place to construct lantern sets.
280,000: Metres of high-quality, 9-stitch silk used to decorate the sets.
Over 95: Tonnes of steel used to frame lantern sets.
120,000: Lights of various styles and power used to illuminate the lanterns.
Types of lights used: 15w, 25w, 40w, and 60w bulbs Flood Fluorescent (red, blue, green, Mercury cold white, warm white) . Christmas Rope (yellow, green, red, white, blue) .
Energy saving (cold white, warm white)
150: 12-litre containers of specially formulated, weather-resistant glue used to adhere silk.
250,000: Porcelain ware used to construct the Porcelain Pagoda Lantern
18m: Height of the Porcelain Pagoda Lantern
13m: Height of the Taj Mahal Lantern
12m: Height of the Tower of Big Ben Lantern
Over 16km: Wire providing electricity to the lantern sets.
6: Generators used to power the lanterns.
