Description
Fringed tulips have petals which are topped with fringes that look like the frayed edge of a piece of satin fabric. Some garden centres may carry only two or three varieties of Fringed Tulips, but they are gradually becoming more popular, not only because the flowers look so elegant, but also because the blooms are quite long-lasting.
The tulip is a perennial, bulbous plant with showy flowers in the genus Tulipa, of which up to 109 species have been described and which belongs to the family Liliaceae. Tulips are amongst one of the most attractive flowers on earth. They are known for its simplicity, ease of caring and colorful blooms. The name, tulip comes from tulipa or turban (also taliban) worn by people in the Middle East. Tulip is the national flower of Turkey & Iran and the floral emblem of Netherlands. The peculiar shape and colors of tulip make it one of the most
loved flowers on earth.
